Content writing is a technical form of writing. There’s no sales language in it.

You often find this type of writing in instructional and informational content, such as how-to articles and product reviews.

Now the goal of good content writing is to share information about a topic in a way that educates people on something they want to learn more about.

So content writing often includes a lot of technical specifications and details.

And if you’re actively writing your own affiliate product reviews or buying guides, then you’re most likely already doing long forms of content writing.

But if you’re just starting out in affiliate marketing and haven’t written a single article yet, then you’ll quickly become acquainted with this method of writing.

That’s because content writing is the most natural way for people to write on affiliate sites.

Here are a few examples of content writing so you know what it looks like:

  • This lawnmower has a 14 horsepower engine.
  • The thermostat on this space heater can be set between 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Did you notice how each one of those statements was fact-based? They only mentioned a particular feature about the product and nothing more.

As an affiliate marketer, content writing is at the core of your business; it’s how you educate your readers on the products you’re trying to sell.

But it can’t be the only way you write.

Now wouldn’t you agree that those examples were a lot more enticing to you as the reader? Instead of just mentioning the facts, those examples included additional language to help sell you on the benefit of a particular feature and why you should act now by buying the item today.
